Az idén éppen negyvenűt éve Londonban megalakult újhullámos brit szintipop du:, a Pet Shop Boys új mérföldkőhöz érkezett 2026. február 27-én, mikor is a Warnernél megjelent ’Dreamworld: The Greatest Hits Live’ című különleges kiadványuk egy 2 CD-t és egy Blu- Ray-t tartalmazó csomagban.
A banda tagjai, Neil Tennant és Chris Lowe 1981 óta formálják a modern pop és elektronikus zenét. Több mint6 ötvenmillió eladott lemezük és számtalan slágerük – például a „West End Girls”, az „It’s a Sin” és az „Always on My Mind” – révén váltak legendává.
A 2019. szeptember 11-én jelentette be a Pet Shop Boys első greatest hits turnéját, a „Dreamworld: The Greatest Hits Live”-ot, amelynek során hé arénakoncertet adtak Egyesült Királyságban. Aztán a világjárvány folytatása két évvel tolódott és csak 2022. május 13-án
folytatódott a bécsi Gasometerben – s egyre újabb dátumokkal bővült: olyannyira, hogy mára már egy jelenleg is tartó világturnévá bővült ki.
A most érkező „Dreamworld: The Greatest Hits Live” kiadvány nem is egy hagyományos stúdió lemezként mutatja be a duó eddigi munkásságát, hanem egy páratlan koncertalbum és – film egyben, amely a páros legismertebb dalait mutatja be grandiózus vizuális és zenei formában, 14-kamerás 4K felvétellel és gazdag hangkeveréssel.
A Blu-Ray pedig elhozza a rajongók otthonaiba a 2023-as koppenhágai Royal Arenában rögzített koncertimet – melyet 2024 január-februárban világszerte a mozikban is bemutattak.
